Our club’s namesake – Senator Albert McCay
The late Senator Albert McCay was a fine gentleman of Delanco, a good neighbor to many and a man dedicated to public service. He served in the New Jersey Senate from 1952-60.
While in the State Senate, he was named majority floor leader of the 1956 session and president of the 1957 session. He also served as acting Governor. He and his wife Grace lived for many years on the riverbank on Second Street.
This picture of the Senator McCay was taken during his college days at Temple University, where he graduated with a degree in law in 1929. He was an outstanding citizen of Delanco, who exemplified the best in an elected official.
